Hunting in Highpass
[Wed Jun 21 01:49:39 2000] Thorbanger tells the guild, 'There we were, the four of us, locked in battle with two gnoll champions! When all of a sudden, from a chasm, four more gnolls burst forth, snarling and drooling with battle frenzy. I was caught off guard, my good man Chiltin was fighting two alone, and Drakkhan was struggling with one on the edge of a small precipice. The dwarven Paladin Glarin, who had just left our party, hurried back to aid us, but it seemed was almost too late, as the gnoll backhanded Drakkhan off the cliff. Four more gnolls came running to where Drakkhan landed, and fell upon him. He never broke his ground, from his mouth came the uttered words of power, and one gnoll burst into flame. It turned into a crisped corpse before it could strike. His next spell was cast from his mind as the three gnolls battered and slashed him with their weapons. He fell, I thought for good, but Glarin came and with a single word to his god, healed Drakkhan of his injuries. With renewed strength, words of power and destruction poured from Drakkhan's lips. His elemental companion appeared at his side, Myself and Chilten finished off our gnolls and joined in the fray! I tell you this... there were more than eight filthy gnoll corpses lying in the misty rain of High Hold when the fray had ended.
